Dinner Time

What is dinner time like at your home? One of my daughter's has always been finicky. I've never considered it a problem. Her taste buds are just incredibly sensitive. Over the years, I've always made two main courses and then side dishes that everyone shared.

I've had a few moms say they would just never cook two main dishes.

So, what's dinner like in your home?

I encourage my children to eat healthy. And I try to cook healthy. And I don't tolerate much pickiness. I accept that there are a couple of foods that a person will really loathe. My kids are allowed to have a few foods that they hate and can pick out. Like tomatoes. My oldest daughter claims to hate them. So I try to make them so that they can be added on the side. But I pretty much tell my kids that they need to eat everything but their designated foods that they don't like, because the food is healthy and good for them. I sympathize that the healthy food doesn't always taste as good, but it really isn't bad and it is important to take care of our bodies. Anyway, that's what I tell my kids and they pretty much eat their food.

I think that cooking two main dishes is fine if that's what you want to do. I don't think there is a wrong way to prepare dinner for your family as long as it is healthy. :)
