Aloha Friday #15

Each Friday, Kailani, over at http://www.islandlife808.com/ hosts a wonderful meme called Aloha Friday. It's the end of the week, a chance to relax and get ready for the weekend. To celebrate Aloha Friday, you ask a question and answer others' questions.

My question for this week:

How old were you when you got your first checking account? If you have kids old enough for a checking account, how old were they when they got them?

My kids both got their first checking accounts when they were about 16. I didn't have my first checking account until I was 18.

I had just turned 17 when I got my first checking account.

My kids got one much younger thanks to my parents.

I was 17, working and wanted to be able to have the freedom of depositing my checks and having them in the bank so I can spend it all before I got paid again!

It was when I went to college, when I was 17.

I opened one when I was 17, leaving for college. Seems to be pretty standard!

I was 16, however our state will not let you have one until you are 18. I tried to get my teen one and was shocked at that rule.

When I graduated, so 17. Mine have savings accounts and my oldest's paycheck is automatically deposited. He does not have a debit card or a checking account.

I got my first checking account when I was 16 after I got my first job. I will likely do the same for my daughter... if she ever gets a job that is. ;)

I started babysitting at 12, so a checking account was in order. I remember going to the bank with my dad maybe when I was 15 or 16. Aloha and take care.

I think I have had my savings account since I was born but got my checking account when I was 16. I don't think you can have a checking account before 16 in California.

I was 12! I got it so young because I went to boarding school at that age and needed one. I probably will get my kids one around 15. Depending on their maturity of course.
