Now that the holidays are over, are your kids asked to write thank-you notes to those that gave them gifts?
I have always allowed my kids to make a phone call to say thank you. I know other parents that require their kids to write thank-you notes before their kids can use their new gifts.
What are the rules in your house?

I think you have a great rule!!!! I have had my kids write thank-you notes in the past and have been almost utterly delinquent myself in mailing them. I am vowing to have the kids write and me mail them this year. I think it is really important!
Of course! We take notes while the kids open presents just like a wedding shower. The notes must go out before New Years.
I think it's great when kids write thank-yous so they can learn the importance of thanking someone for a gift given to them. However, for Christmas we do not require them to write thank-yous. The gifts they receive at Christmas are always from close family and they are always telling us they do not need a thank you note.
We hand-write them. :) My girls are too little to write, so I do them for now. ;) Thanks for the visit!
As a writing teacher, I insist on the writing (or in the case of my kids, scribbling).
I have my kids at least do the artwork. I have a reluctant writer, so it's not worth the battle. He's gotten his sister to write and he just signs. But a phone call maybe a great idea for him. Thanks for the suggestion.
