You can turn pretty much anything into a book mark. Use a piece of construction paper as your base. Now attach movie tickets, concert tickets, Disneyland tickets etc to the construction paper. Laminate and punch a hole in the top. Attach string, ribbon or yarn and you now have a very personalized bookmark.

Yep, I guess that beats my magazine subscription inserts any day!
My second-grader loves making bookmarks. She uses paper. She will also make some using ribbon with beads attached or plastic strips with beads attached. She makes a LOT of them. :)
Now to remember not to turn in the bookmarks, along with the books, at the library! :)
Faith loves crafts. I can only make so many magnets of her artwork before no one has any room on their refrigerator. So this year, I attached ribbons to them for bookmarks since each side of the family have bookworms.
